This event features a ‘prelude’ performance at 6:45 pm by two winners of the FGCU/Steinway Society Young Artists Competition: Kyleigh Kimball, Senior Division 2nd place winner, and Allen Zhou, Late Elementary 1st place winner.  Kyleigh is a student of Elena Bock and Allen is a student of Mingshan Kong.

The feature performance starts at 7:00 pm.

Ceren Su Sahin is a senior piano performance major at FGCU studying with Dr. Michael Baron under full scholarship.  Born in Ankara, Turkey, she won “Jury Special Prize” at ‘Vienna Young Pianists Masterclass 2007’ held in Austria, 1st Prize in “3rd Mozart International Piano Competition” held in Rome, Italy, 3rd Prize at “Young Talents 2012 Piano Competition” which was jointly arranged by Sedat Gürel-Güzin Gürel Art and Science Foundation and Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra, 3rd Prize in “2nd Sergey Rahmaninov Piano Competition” held in Istanbul, which was jointly arranged by the Turkish Russian Cultural Foundation and Consulate General of Russia in Istanbul, 3rd Prize and the Best Cemal Reşit Rey Interpretation Prize at “1st National Vedat Kosal Piano Competition”, which was jointly arranged by Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University State Conservatory and Yildiz Technical University. She performed in many concerts including performances with MSGSU State Symphony Orchestra, Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra and Eskisehir Metropolitan Municipality Symphony Orchestra. She studied in the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, Poland via Erasmus Exchange Program as a student of Professor Jerzy Sterczynski.

elise-sherron-2Elise Sherron, originally from North Carolina, is a senior piano performance major at Florida Gulf Coast University where she studies with Dr. Michael Baron. She has been a prize winner in several competitions in Florida and North Carolina, including the Young Artist Awards Competition of Southwest Florida and the Loren Withers Competition at Duke University. Her past studies have been at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, under the direction of Dmitri Shteinberg, Eric Larsen, and Clifton Matthews. Elise has attended several music festivals, including a full scholarship to study at the Tibor Varga Conservatory in Sion, Switzerland, and at the Montecito Summer Music Festival in California. She is the current recipient of the Kay Slocum and Charles Lussenhop Scholarship at FGCU.
